\r\n\r\n With a little love, a pinch of creativity, and a vision, Asha\r\n Gautam's label was started with the concoction of these\r\n ingredients as a passion project by Asha Gupta in 1998.\r\n
\r\n\r\n With her keen eye for fashion and affinity towards Indian arts\r\n and crafts, it has bloomed into one of the most exquisite\r\n fashion labels. As time passed, her son, Gautam, joined her,\r\n giving a fresh yet young perspective and making the brand more\r\n desirable for fashion enthusiasts.\r\n
\r\n\r\n Along with Gautam came his deep-rooted knowledge and love of the\r\n great Indian textiles and contemporary fashion, thanks to his\r\n education at NIFT. The mother-son duo brought to life the\r\n wonders of modern silhouettes with a touch of Indian textiles\r\n and weaves. Thinking beyond the boundaries of existing fashion,\r\n they travelled to remote parts of the country, like Paithan,\r\n Bhuj, Pochampally, and Uppada, amongst others, discovering\r\n deep-rooted traditions that had been sucked into obscurity by\r\n reviving, renewing it, giving them new life.\r\n
\r\n\r\n With Asha's creativity and her honed skill of up-cycling, they\r\n brought to life their Indian bridal line using techniques like\r\n appliqué, rich embroideries like Convent and French Knots, Nib\r\n Painting, Bandhani and Chikankari. The brand uses weaves from\r\n Kota Dori, Real Banarasi Zari, and Paithani, further essaying a\r\n new design story.\r\n
\r\n\r\n Label Asha Gautam works very closely with weavers and artisans\r\n across India to revive countries history, culture and heritage,\r\n making each creation a masterpiece. After 24 years of travel and\r\n collaborations, the brand is currently associated with artisans\r\n from 7 states, 15 clusters, with more than 30 Indian crafts. All\r\n designs are an amalgamation of modern cuts with rich\r\n craftsmanship.\r\n

With over twenty-four years of\r\n experience delving into the textile industry, uncovering and\r\n exploring new and old Indian crafts, Gautam wanted to bring this\r\n knowledge to the contemporary world of fashion. Marrying modern\r\n sensibilities with uniquely Indian design to create contemporary\r\n fashion that stands on its own- this is the secret sauce to GG by\r\n Asha Gautam. He is working with some of the country’s best\r\n artisans and has a unique design philosophy, Gautam blends\r\n technology like 3D hand embroidery and Appliqué with the magic of\r\n Indian textiles, from Organza, Silk, Banarasi fabrics to georgette\r\n satin and so much more. With this bold Endeavour, Gautam has been\r\n shaking up the Indian fashion scene with diverse collections of\r\n fusion wear, luxury prêt, and couture pieces.
